Material Selection

The marrying of materials in the landscape is very important. It makes the garden theme tremendously
strong creating a seamless and fluid feeling from one space to the next. Material integration creates the 'genius loci' or, sense of space. Used properly throughout the project, this allows for a sense of stable continuity without becoming stagnant.

The mixing of too many materials can create a “fruit salad” affect which makes the space feel disjointed. Plants and other features allow for focal points and areas of interest. This integration is an art and is one of our specialties.
